Weak employment data allows Canada to easily cut interest rates by another 25 basis points

Internet reports that Canada is one of U.S. President Trump's main tariff targets, making Canadian data and events more concerned than ever. The Bank of Canada will announce its interest rate decision on Wednesday. With Canada's weak February employment data (even before the tariffs were implemented), a rate cut seems increasingly likely. "Recruitment slowed even before the tariffs were implemented, allowing the Bank of Canada to easily cut interest rates by another 25 basis points," economists at the Desjardins Group said in a report.
