Amazon joins forces with tech giants to bet on Figure AI
Amazon, as well as tech giants such as Nvidia and Microsoft, are reportedly investing in a startup called Figure AI to develop artificial intelligence robots。
Jeff Bezos, founder of big tech company Amazon (ticker symbol: AMZN), and the likes of Nvidia (ticker symbol: NVDA) are investing in a startup called Figure AI, which develops robots with human-like intelligence.。Figure AI is also supported by ChatGPT makers OpenAI and Microsoft (ticker symbol: MSFT), and is in the process of about 6..$7.5 billion in financing, with an estimated financing valuation of approximately $2 billion。
Bezos, through its company Explore Investments LLC, reportedly committed $100 million, Microsoft $95 million, while Nvidia and an Amazon affiliate each offered $50 million.。
Since OpenAI launched its viral chatbot ChatGPT in November 2022, investment in AI startups has increased dramatically.。Investors see an opportunity and are betting that these startups may outperform bigger rivals。
The report also pointed out that OpenAI had considered acquiring Figure and invested $5 million.。Supporters include Intel's venture capital arm, LG Innotek, Samsung's investment group, and venture capital firms Parkway Venture Capital and Align Ventures。
