Apple To Fully Integrate AI At WWDC 2024
At the upcoming WWDC 2024, Apple will push for full integration of AI technology.
At the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2024) hosted by Apple Inc. (AAPL), the company is expected to focus on advancing the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance the functionality and performance of its key hardware products.
The company plans a significant overhaul of Siri, enhancing its application control capabilities and introducing more AI for photo editing and messaging services. Additionally, iOS 18 and macOS 15 will bring numerous AI feature updates, showcasing Apple's further expansion in the field of AI. The introduction of new chips will also boost the devices' AI performance, signaling Apple's continued leadership in technological innovation and market competition.
Siri Voice Assistant: Apple plans to completely overhaul Siri using more advanced AI technology, enabling it to control all functions within applications. The new system will utilize large language models to revamp Siri's underlying software, with basic AI tasks handled on the device itself and more advanced functions completed via cloud computing.
AI Photo Editing: The new version of the photo editor will include features like intelligent cropping and resizing, with AI identifying and editing specific photo elements, similar to Google's "Magic Eraser" feature.
Messaging: AGI will introduce emoji creation capabilities, generating custom emojis based on the content of user messages, and providing AI summaries for missed messages.
iOS 18: The new system will add AI functionality to applications such as Siri, Spotlight, Shortcuts, and Apple Music, enhancing overall intelligence. Additionally, iOS 18 will allow users to place app icons anywhere on the home screen for the first time; users can customize app icon colors and categorize them according to personal preferences. Maps will add support for custom routes, and the Control Center interface will be more customizable.
In addition to the above updates, WWDC may introduce new chips with AI capabilities, with the next generation iPhone processor possibly named A18, matching the new M4 chip to enhance device AI performance.
