Canadian fintech companies Nuvei and ViaPlus launch mobile service payment options
This product includes payment methods such as Apple Pay, Pix in Brazil, Pago Efectivo in Peru and Alipay in China. The company focuses on countries served by VINCI Highways, including Brazil, Peru and Colombia.
Nuvei, a Canadian fintech company, has partnered with U.S. transportation company ViaPlus to improve the way consumers pay for travel services. Through this partnership, the two companies aim to introduce more than 700 new payment options, providing convenience and flexibility to users in multiple countries.
Expanding Payment Options
According to a press release, the partnership between ViaPlus, a subsidiary of VINCI Highways, and Nuvei Corporation will streamline the payment process for mobility services. The partnership leverages ViaPlus' mobile back office, which handles a high volume of transactions, and Nuvei's global acquiring and processing capabilities.
The integration introduces a new digital payment network, ViaPlus Nexus, and ViaPlus users can now choose from more than 700 new payment methods, including Apple Pay and local favorites such as Pix in Brazil, Pago Efectivo in Peru and Nequi in Colombia. The system also integrates with Alipay, which is the digital wallet in China.

ViaPlus and Nuvei are rolling out payment solutions in countries served by VINCI Highways, including Brazil, Peru and Colombia.ViaPlus specializes in revenue and service management solutions for the transportation industry, focusing on the high volume of transactions required for multimodal transportation.
Growing business in Asia Pacific
In April, Nuvei expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific region by obtaining a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license in Singapore. The license allows Nuvei to provide a variety of payment services to businesses in Singapore, including domestic and cross-border money transfers and merchant acquiring services.
In addition, Nuvei's MPI license gives the company the opportunity to operate three key payment services in Singapore to meet the diverse needs of businesses in the region.Nuvei has also partnered with MasterCard to boost its business in Singapore.
This year, the Canadian fintech company announced plans to take its business private, led by private equity firm Advent International. The all-cash deal was valued at about $6.3 billion. Under the terms of the deal, Nuvei's shareholders will receive $34 per share in cash.
