Google Cloud CEO on Antitrust and Microsoft Licensing Policy

On July 10th, Amit Zavery, CEO of Google Cloud under Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL), stated that the company is considering new approaches in its dispute over licensing policies with Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT).

Following Microsoft's agreement with the trade organization CISPE to settle antitrust litigation regarding its cloud computing licensing policies, Zavery remarked, "Many regulatory bodies have been investigating Microsoft's licensing policies, and we hope to take measures to protect the cloud computing industry from Microsoft's anti-competitive practices. In order to promote choice, innovation, and the expansion of the digital economy, we are exploring various options to continue challenging Microsoft's anti-competitive licensing policies."

These statements reflect Google's determination to uphold a fair competitive environment in the European market, while also highlighting concerns about the impact of Microsoft's licensing policies and considerations for response strategies.
