Meanwhile, Sumitomo Corporation (TYO: 8053) gained 4.37%, up 180.00 points to close at 4,300.00, and J.Front Retailing Co., Ltd. (TYO: 3086) climbed 3.68% in late trading, up 50.50 points to 1,422.50.

Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Co., Ltd. TYO: 4506) was the worst performer of the day, closing down 6.75%, dropping 27.00 points to 373.00. CyberAgent Inc (TYO: 4751) declined by 4.09%, down 40.20 points to close at 942.20, while Mazda Motor Corporation (TYO: 7261) fell by 3.24%, down 58.00 points to 1,730.00.

At the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the number of declining stocks exceeded the number of advancing stocks, with a ratio of 0 to 0.
