Mona M03 Priced From ¥119,800, Is Xpeng Aiming To Be The Value King?

At the conference, Xpeng Auto unveiled MONA's first model, the M03, which is available in three versions, namely the 515 Long Range Edition, the 620 Ultra Long Range Edition, and the 620 Ultra Long Range Max Edition, with corresponding price tags of 119,800 yuan, 129,800 yuan, and 155,800 yuan respectively. 155,800 yuan.

According to the official introduction, MONA M03 Intelligent Driving Standard Edition, equipped with L2 level intelligent assisted driving system, standard equipped with 20+ intelligent perception hardware, has a strong strong perception ability.XpengMONA M03 Max Edition is equipped with the company's independent research and development of the second generation of intelligent assisted driving system XNGP, which not only includes high-speed NGP, but also has the city NGP function.

As for the intelligent cockpit, the M03 is equipped with a 15.6-inch large-size center control screen, a built-in high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, and 16GB of large memory as standard.

As for the exterior, the M03 is available in five exterior colors and three interior colors.

Regarding the pricing of the M03, He Xiaopeng said that Xpeng Auto has deeply considered the real needs and thoughts of consumers in the current market environment, and has taken owners' feedback as an important factor in pricing. In addition, Xpeng Auto has been committed to controlling costs through technological innovation. The optimization of technology not only improves the performance of the product, but also effectively reduces the production cost, thus enabling XpengMONA M03 to face the market with a more competitive price.

For such a cost-effective car, Xpeng's internal expectations are also high. Yang Guang, product manager of XpengMONA M03, revealed that the company's goal is for the M03 to be able to sell more than 10,000 units per month, or even higher. An hour or so after the launch, He Xiaopeng announced that the M03 is set to exceed 10,000 units.

In its latest research report, CBI said that the M03 will be sold in two phases, and the strategy of having the regular version first and the MAX version later may be expected to keep the M03 hot for a longer period of time. The group's management expects 20,000 vehicles to be delivered in September, and based on the current sales volume measured from July to August, it is very likely that the M03 will deliver more than 10,000 vehicles in September.

HSBC Global Research also said in a report that the MONA M03 and Xpeng+P7+ may drive the scale of sales in the second half of the year. HSBC said it believes the new models MONA M03 and XpengP7+, which are equipped with XPeng's industry-leading intelligent driving software features but at a lower price, will drive higher volume scale in the second half of the year and be the main catalyst for the stock price in the near term.

Xpeng aspires to be an AI car company

This year, marks the 10th anniversary of Xpeng Auto. At the launch event on the evening of the 27th, He Xiaopeng announced that Xpeng Auto is going to become a globally oriented AI car company in the next 10 years.

Becoming an AI car company is not just talk, at the meeting Xpeng officially released the world's first chip that can be used in robotics, AI cars and flying cars at the same time - “Xpeng Turing”, which has been successfully flowed on August 23rd.

“Xpeng Turing is a customized chip for end-to-end large models, integrating two self-developed neural network processing brains (NPU), two independent image signal processors (ISP), and adopting neural network-oriented DSA (domain-specific architecture); it has a 40-core processor, which provides powerful computational support for large models. The computing power is 3 times that of existing chips, and supports running large models with up to 30B parameters on the local side.

Xpeng also released the “AI eagle eye vision program”. According to the introduction, the vision solution for the utilization of visual information efficiency than the previous generation 8 times, the overall computing efficiency increased by 20%, the response speed increased by 100 milliseconds, and can achieve the same intelligent driving experience with the LiDAR solution.

In the fourth quarter of this year, XpengP7+ will be the first model equipped with the “AI Hawk-Eye Vision Program”, and will subsequently be equipped in other models including MONA series.

In addition, He Xiaopeng also said that Xpeng flying car “land carrier” will be officially opened in the fourth quarter of this year for pre-sale, Xpeng second-generation humanoid robot will be unveiled in the “1024 Technology Day”.

It is worth noting that before the official listing of M03, He Xiaopeng purchased a total of 1 million Class A common shares of the Company from August 21 to August 23, 2024, at a cost of approximately HK$27 million. He Xiaopeng also purchased about 1,419,900 American Depositary Shares of the company for about $9.97 million, at a total cost of about HK$107 million.
