Zuckerberg lobbies Trump to avoid Meta facing antitrust trial "

Online reports that according to people familiar with the matter, Zuckerberg is lobbying U.S. President Trump and White House officials to reach a settlement agreement to avoid Meta Platforms facing antitrust trials later this month. Ahead of a trial scheduled for April 14 at the Federal Trade Commission, Meta and his representatives have met with the president and his top advisers. The trial could force Meta to divest the messaging platform WhatsApp and photo-sharing app Instagram it acquired. The terms of a potential settlement agreement are unclear. People familiar with the matter said Meta CEO Zuckerberg visited the White House on Wednesday, his third visit since President Trump took office. Some people familiar with the matter said that some Trump aides were dissatisfied with Meta's lobbying strategy and believed it was too radical.
