Trump tariffs hit U.S. stocks and the Nasdaq plunged more than 1000 points."

Internet reported that U.S. stocks widened their decline in early trading on Thursday, with the Dow plunging more than 1500 points and the Nasdaq plunging more than 1000 points. U.S. President Trump has announced an additional "reciprocal tariff" of 10% to 49% on almost all countries, a move that could trigger a global trade war and severely damage the already weak U.S. economy. Initial claims for unemployment benefits in the United States fell unexpectedly last week. Trump tariffs and OPEC+'s plan to increase production have plunged oil prices. The Dow fell 1,543.14 points, or 3.65%, to 40,682.18 points; the Nasdaq fell 1,004.16 points, or 5.71%, to 16,596.89 points; the S & P 500 Index fell 246.47 points, or 4.35%, to 5,424.50 points.
