Singapore Technology Engineering Limited
Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (STE) is a technology, defense, and engineering group that serves the fields of aerospace, smart cities, defense, and public safety.
The group will release its 2023 performance on the morning of February 29th. Investors can expect good performance reports from this engineering group. Previously, the company released its performance for the first nine months of 2023, with revenue increasing by 12% year-on-year to reach SGD 7.3 billion. The revenue growth of the commercial aerospace sector was the largest year-on-year, reaching 30%, thanks to the surge in air travel.
In the first nine months of 2023, STE also won a total of SGD 11.7 billion in new contracts, bringing its order book to a high of SGD 27.5 billion as of September 30, 2023. Last year, the group announced plans to expand production capacity, such as developing fuselage repair hangars in Florida and Singapore, and acquiring a dock from a Singaporean shipbuilding company. Last December, STE acquired D'Crypto from StarHub for SGD 67.5 million to strengthen its cryptography and network security sub sectors.
SembCorp Industries Ltd
SembCorp Industries Ltd (SCI) is an energy and urban solutions provider with a balanced energy portfolio of 20.5 gigawatts and a project portfolio spanning over 14000 hectares across Asia.SCI will release its 2023 performance on the morning of February 20th. The group has been actively expanding its renewable energy business to align with the goals conveyed on its recent investor day.
In November 2023, SCI acquired 428 megawatts of wind power assets in China and India. A month later, the utility group was awarded a 300 megawatt Indian solar project, as well as Singapore's largest solar power generation project. Just last month, SCI was awarded a 450 megawatt Indian wind and solar hybrid project. This week, the group announced the completion of the purchase of 228 megawatts of wind power assets in India, bringing its global total renewable energy portfolio to 13.5 gigawatts.
Venture
Venture Corporation Limited (Venture) is a company that provides technical products, services, and solutions.
Due to the downturn in the semiconductor industry, the group previously reported sluggish performance for the first nine months of 2023. Revenue decreased by 18.8% year-on-year to SGD 2.3 billion, while net profit decreased by 25.2% year-on-year to SGD 203.3 million.
Despite weak performance, Venture has been paying stable dividends for many years. The group increased its annual dividend from SGD 0.70 in 2020 to SGD 0.75 and maintained this dividend level during periods of volatility in the semiconductor industry. In the first half of 2023, Venture continued to pay an interim dividend of SGD 0.25 per share, unchanged from last year.
The group will release its 2023 performance after the closing on February 22nd.
Genting Singapore
Genting Singapore is the owner and operator of the Sentosa Resorts World (RWS) integrated resort in Singapore.
RWS has six unique theme hotels, about 1600 rooms, a casino, one of the world's largest aquariums, a Universal Studios theme park, and a series of catering, retail and entertainment venues.Genting Singapore has previously released an encouraging 3Q business update. Total revenue increased by 33% year-on-year to SGD 689.9 million, while net profit increased by 59% year-on-year to SGD 216.3 million.
The board of directors has approved a total investment of approximately SGD 6.8 billion to expand RWS and make it the most popular tourist destination in Asia. The new waterfront development project will begin construction this year and add 700 new hotel rooms to RWS. The transformation of the Forum, the Little Yellow Man Paradise in Universal Studios Singapore and the Singapore Aquarium is proceeding smoothly and is expected to open in early 2025.
