Agency: Australia is expected to start cutting interest rates in February
According to online reports, Shane Oliver, chief economist of AMP Financial Services in Australia, said that the Reserve Bank of Australia is expected to start cutting interest rates in February. He said money markets showed a 69% probability of a rate cut in February. Oliver said that the Reserve Bank of Australia should start cutting interest rates in May at the latest and expects at least three interest rates in 2025. "It is important to note that while Trump's policies may increase U.S. inflation and interest rates, these policies have ambiguous and even potentially negative effects on growth and inflation in Australia," he said. Oliver added that it is unlikely that the new committee will change the path of interest rates starting in March. (Jin Shi)
