Effective! 37.6% temporary tariff increase SAIC: Strongly oppose! Will further exercise the right of defense in accordance with the law
On July 5, SAIC released a statement saying that SAIC will formally request the European Commission to hold a hearing on China's provisional countervailing duty measures on electric vehicles, and further exercise its right to defend in accordance with the law.
In the above statement, SAIC put forward three points of defense
First, the investigation involves commercially sensitive information, such as the provision of chemical formulations related to batteries, which is beyond the normal scope of the investigation.
Second, the EC's determination of subsidies is wrong.
For example, the subsidies for domestic consumers to purchase new energy vehicles were included in the calculation of the subsidy rate for sales in the EU.
Third, the EC ignored some of the information and defenses submitted by SAIC during the investigation.
Based on the so-called "non-cooperation with the investigation" in the relevant regulations, the EC made unfavorable presumptions and inflated the subsidy rates of several items.
