Interactive Brokers Integrates Cboe Europe Derivatives

Interactive Brokers has integrated the Cboe European Derivatives Exchange (CEDX) into its trading platform, enabling clients to trade European stock options, stock index options, and stock index futures, enhancing their ability to manage portfolios and diversify investments.

Introduce European Derivatives Markets

According to reports, CEDX will allow traders to access a wide range of European stock derivatives on a single platform, including other global financial instruments such as stocks, currencies, and bonds, complementing Interactive Brokers' current European stock derivatives offerings through Eurex and Euronext.

Milan Galik, CEO of Interactive Brokers, commented on the integration: "The introduction of Cboe European Derivatives Exchange underscores our commitment to providing customers with a broad range of product choices at low cost. As investors increasingly use derivatives for diversified investments and fine-tuning market exposure, CEDX expands investment options for our clients."

Clients now have more ways to manage European investments, with access to over 300 stock options from leading European companies across 14 countries; they can also trade futures and options contracts based on well-known benchmarks like the Cboe Eurozone 50 Index, Cboe Germany 40 Index, and Cboe UK 100 Index.

CEDX will waive exchange, market data, and connectivity fees until the end of 2024, lowering the barriers for investors to enter the European derivatives market and enabling them to diversify their trading strategies cost-effectively.

Service for Institutional Investors

Last month, Interactive Brokers introduced intraday options on the CAC 40 Index, allowing institutional and retail traders to execute short-term trading strategies and manage their exposure to the French stock market, aiming to provide tools for navigating global markets.

Interactive Brokers stated that the introduction of intraday options aims to meet the growing demand from investors for near-term expiry options, driven by the need for short-term trading strategies and the desire for lower costs and greater flexibility.

Additionally, Interactive Brokers now offers cryptocurrency trading under its UK entity for both individual and institutional investors. The digital asset trading platform has added Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash. Despite being provided through partnerships with third-party cryptocurrency exchanges, Interactive Brokers mentions that users can trade cryptocurrencies alongside other asset classes within the same trading account.
