Trump: No intention of firing Powell, calls on the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates

According to Internet reports, U.S. President Trump said at the inauguration ceremony of SEC Chairman Atkins on Tuesday local time that he had no intention of firing Federal Reserve Chairman Powell, although he was disappointed that the Fed did not cut interest rates faster. "Never," Trump told reporters,"the media always makes a mess of things. I'm not going to fire him. I would like to see him be more proactive in the idea of lowering interest rates." Trump said,"Grocery prices have dropped, everything is falling. The only thing that hasn't dropped but hasn't increased much is interest rates." Trump said,"We think the Fed should lower interest rates, and now is the perfect time. We want our chairman to be early or on time (to cut interest rates) rather than late." Trump also said that the stock market is up well.
