It took 13 years for BYD to achieve its first million new energy vehicles in 2021。It took less than four months to go from 7 million to 8 million, and the 7 million was completed on March 25 this year.。It is less than 11 months since BYD produced its 5 millionth vehicle on August 9, 2023.。

It is not clear whether 8 million vehicles will roll off the assembly line in Thailand or even start production on July 4。The Thailand factory is the brand's first wholly-owned overseas factory, and the Uzbekistan factory is a joint venture。The plant started construction in March 2023 and is located in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Special Zone of Rayong Province。The area is located in the same area as the GAC Aion plant, which will open later this month.。
