EU will discuss reducing tariffs in its first meeting with Trump team "
Internet reported that when the European Union's chief trade negotiator Maros Sefcovic began negotiations with the U.S. Trade Representative on Friday on Trump's far-reaching tariffs, he was realistic about what could be achieved in the near future. Europe's goal is to save as much transatlantic relations and the existing economic order as possible, according to people familiar with the EU's thinking. But they don't expect to return to their former state. Sefcovic is expected to discuss options such as reducing the EU's own tariffs, potential co-investment and relaxing certain regulations and standards. Foreign media reported earlier that the European Commission was already working out a "list of terms" on which concessions might be made.
