Gary Gensler seems to have issued a farewell message: It is an honor of a lifetime to serve as chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission

According to online reports, Gary Gensler appeared to have sent a farewell message on Platform X. He wrote: It is an honor for me to serve as chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Public service is giving back to our community, whether it is a neighborhood, county or state; Or, as part of this institution, I am convinced that capital markets, competition, and common-sense rules are beneficial to both investors and issuers, which is why the Securities and Exchange Commission and its employees play a key role in overseeing markets and ensuring compliance with the common-sense rules of U.S. securities law: 1. We have reduced costs and risks and enhanced the integrity of our two largest markets-the nearly $60 trillion stock market and the $28 trillion treasury bond market; 2. We have helped improve the transparency and integrity of corporate governance of listed companies, including implementing new cooling-off periods and other conditions before company insiders who may have significant non-public information trade their corporate securities; 3. We have rules that require regulated broker-dealers and investment advisers to notify clients of data breaches that could put personal information at risk; 4. We have laid the foundation for an important debate about the increasingly widespread use of artificial intelligence in the financial sector; 5. We have updated rules in the stock and treasury markets to shorten settlement cycles; and 6. We have returned more than $2.7 billion to damaged investors.
