According to online reports, Austan Goolsbee, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, said that although uncertainty about fiscal policy may lead to fewer interest rate cuts, he still expects some interest rate cuts in the next 18 months. "I think it makes the environment more confusing," Goolsbee said of U.S. policies and other uncertainties facing the economy. "I still think our finish line is a considerable distance below where we are now, but because of these uncertainties, I slowed down the pace of getting there a bit."
