Bitcoin's value shrank by 12% in the first quarter of 2025, setting the worst Q1 performance in the past seven years."

According to online reports, the first quarter of 2025 was Bitcoin's worst performing quarter in seven years. Despite significant increases in holdings by corporate entities such as Strategy, Tether, and Metaplanet, the market value of Bitcoin still shrank by at least 12% between January and March. CryptoQuant analysis believes that the market's decline may be related to the selling activity of long-term holders and the outflow of ETF funds. In the first quarter, the BTC holdings of long-term holders decreased by approximately 178,000 BTC, offsetting the bullish momentum brought by the increase in corporate entities., while Bitcoin ETF withdrew at least US$4.8 billion in funds in the first quarter, it remains to be seen whether BTC will end the second quarter with a positive attitude.
