The US Department of Commerce announced that the final GDP growth rate for the fourth quarter of 2023 was 3.4%, an increase from the previous 3.2%, reflecting the continued strong economic growth momentum.

The revision reflects strong consumer spending, as well as an increase in non residential fixed investment and state and local government spending.

The final value of the core personal consumption expenditure (PCE) price index in the fourth quarter was lowered from 2.1% to 2%, which is in line with expectations. The final value of personal consumption expenditure (PCE) prices has been revised up from 3% to 3.3%, higher than expected, indicating that inflationary pressure still exists.

After the data was released, the futures of the three major US stock indexes rose slightly, while the prices of other assets did not fluctuate much, and the market's response to the data was stable.
