Musk's "cost reduction and efficiency improvement" plan has little effect, US federal spending sets a new record

Online reports, according to the British Financial Times, the latest data from the U.S. Treasury Department showed that Musk's extremely aggressive efficiency measures failed to prevent U.S. federal spending from rising to a record $603 billion last month, highlighting the Trump administration's efforts to reduce the size of the government. Difficulties. Musk's Department of Efficiency claims to have saved more than $100 billion, but spending fell in only a few departments in the new administration's first month in office. Compared with the same period last year, expenditures increased by $40 billion year-on-year, or 7%. The new data was released after Musk and members of the department penetrated several government agencies, including state and health departments, as well as multiple departments of the Treasury Department. Tens of thousands of workers have been suspended or fired, and thousands of government grants and contracts have been cancelled. Musk has repeatedly claimed that the Department of Efficiency is expected to save $1 trillion worth of money from the annual federal budget, and said the program is currently being cut at a rate of $4 billion a day. But February's monthly financial report showed that few major categories of spending fell significantly. Treasury officials pointed out that the Education Department cut spending by $6 billion.
