Japanese PM: US tariffs could disrupt global economic order
Internet reported that Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said on Monday that U.S. tariffs could disrupt the global economic order, and he issued his strongest warning yet about the damage Trump's decision could cause to the world economy. But he stressed that Japan will seek common ground with the United States on how to cooperate on issues such as trade and national security. "When negotiating with the United States, we need to understand the logical and emotional factors behind Trump's views," Shigeru Ishiba said in Congress. "I am fully aware that what is happening right now has the potential to disrupt the global economic order," he said. Shigeru Ishiba also said that the government is not currently considering additional budgets, but is ready to take timely action to alleviate the impact of U.S. tariffs on the economy.
