According to online reports, the total size of the Federal Reserve's balance sheet has fallen below US$7 trillion for the first time since August 2020, which means that the Federal Reserve has carried out about US$2 trillion in this round of shrinking its balance sheet. The Federal Reserve previously stated in its latest statement that it would maintain the scale of its balance sheet reduction unchanged, that is, reduce its monthly holdings of US$25 billion in U.S. debt and US$35 billion in MBS.
