Zeekr claims more than 20,000 bookings for 7X SUV in first week

Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) said it received more than 20,000 bookings for its Zeekr 7X in the first week after the pre-sale began, indicating the initial acceptance of the SUV (sport utility vehicle)。
The electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer began pre-selling the Zeekr 7X on August 30, the first day of the 2024 Chengdu Auto Show, and will officially go on sale on September 20。
Zeekr 7X will begin delivery in China by the end of September and will be delivered in the global market within a year.。
The model, which starts at a pre-sale price of RMB 239,000 ($33,720), is designed to compete with the Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y, which currently starts at RMB 249,900 in China.。
Zeekr 7X is internally codenamed CX1e, based on Geely SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture), with a length, width and height of 4,825 mm, 1,930 mm, and 1,656 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,925 mm.。
This model is fully based on the 800 V high-voltage platform and is expected to provide higher energy efficiency than models based on the conventional 400 V platform。
It has two batteries to choose from, one is a 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a CLTC range of 605 kilometers。The longer range version is equipped with a 100 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) ternary battery pack, extending the CLTC range to 780 kilometers。
Zeekr has said that the lithium iron phosphate battery developed by its engineers has the fastest charging capacity in the world, with only 10.5 minutes to charge the vehicle from 10% to 80%。
Zeekr 7X will be Zeekr's second model for the mainstream electric vehicle market, and SUVs are usually more popular with Chinese consumers due to their larger interior space。
The Zeekr 007 electric sedan was launched on December 27, 2023, and is Zeekr's first model aimed at the mainstream electric vehicle market。
Other models currently on sale at Zeekr include Zeekr 001, Zeekr 009 and Zeekr X, all of which are targeted at niche markets.。
Zeekr delivered 18,015 vehicles in August, up 46.43%, an increase of 15.08%。
From January to August, Zeekr delivered 121,540 vehicles, up 81.47%。
