OpenAI submits letter to the US government to attack DeepSeek

According to online reports, the U.S. Business Standards reported on the 14th that U.S. artificial intelligence company OpenAI submitted a 15-page letter to the U.S. government on the 13th, saying that DeepSeek's latest model R1 is a development worthy of attention. OpenAI also attacked DeepSeek in the letter, saying it posed "significant risks" and asked the U.S. government to take action. Reported that Chris Lehan, deputy director of global affairs at OpenAI, admitted in the letter: "Although the United States currently maintains a leading position in artificial intelligence, DeepSeek shows that our lead is not large and is shrinking." At the same time, Lehan claimed that using DeepSeek in critical infrastructure and other high-risk applications would "pose significant risks" because it could be "manipulated by the China government." He also claimed that DeepSeek "infringes intellectual property rights" and that its users "may face privacy and security risks."
