Token Metrics CEO says US SEC will drop lawsuit against him
Ian Balina, CEO of Token Metrics, said on Wednesday that he expected the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to drop the lawsuit against him, ending a three-year legal battle over accusing him of violating U.S. securities laws, the Internet reported. "This is official: the Securities and Exchange Commission will drop the indictment against me,"Balina wrote on Twitter. "It's never just about me, it's about the fairness of cryptocurrencies." Balina's allegations stem from a September 2022 order stating that he failed to disclose the remuneration he received while promoting Sparkster (SPRK)'s initial token offering. In support of the chief executive's claims, Token Metrics said on Twitter on Monday that the charges had been "dropped" and added that "enforcement trends may be shifting."
