According to online reports, the average daily trading volume of cryptocurrency derivatives by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group (CME) in the first quarter of 2025 reached 198,000 contracts, with a nominal value of US$11.3 billion, a record high. The trading volume of micro Ethereum futures reached 76,000, and micro bitcoin futures increased by 113% year-on-year, with the average daily trading volume reaching 77,000. Micro-contracts have low thresholds and easy risk management, driving overall trading activity to soar.
