US senators propose FLARE bill to convert waste energy into electricity for Bitcoin mining."
On April 2, Decrypt reported that U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas, formally proposed the "Facilitate Lower Atmospheric Released Emissions"(FLARE) bill on March 31, aiming to convert waste natural gas that was originally burned or emitted into Bitcoin mining power. The bill would provide companies with full tax credits for capturing spent natural gas equipment, while restricting countries such as China, Iran, North Korea and Russia from participating in related activities. Cruz said that this move will not only improve energy market efficiency and enhance the resilience of the power grid, but will also help Texas become the "preferred location for Bitcoin mining." Experts in the energy field believe that Bitcoin miners can reduce greenhouse gas emissions in this way, while at the same time turning waste energy into valuable digital assets, achieving a win-win situation between economy and environmental protection.
