Arkansas Crypto Mining Association seeks to overturn state law against foreign cryptocurrency miners

Internet reports that the Arkansas Crypto Mining Association is suing two Arkansas officials for enforcing an unconstitutional discriminatory state rule prohibiting foreign-born U.S. citizens from engaging in crypto mining activities. Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin and Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission Director Lawrence Bengal filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas on March 13. Previously, a federal court ruled in November last year, temporarily prohibiting Arkansas from preventing a naturalized Chinese American citizen from operating a cryptocurrency mining business. The relevant rules in Arkansas are Rule K and Bill 174, which prohibits foreign-controlled businesses in the state.
