Apple's International Business Management Reorganizes India as Apple's Own Sales Area for the First Time

Due to Apple's recent surge in demand in India, Apple (Apple Inc..) is restructuring the management of its international operations to tilt a larger business focus towards the region。This is a sign that India is increasingly becoming an important sales area for Apple, and it also marks the first time that India will become Apple's own sales area.。

It is understood that due to Apple's recent surge in demand in India, Apple Inc. (Apple Inc.).) is restructuring the management of its international operations to tilt a larger business focus towards the region。This is a sign that India is increasingly becoming an important sales area for Apple, and it also marks the first time that India will become Apple's own sales area.。

India is becoming Apple's "new base"

According to Apple's earnings report released in early February this year, although in the fourth quarter of last year, Apple's total revenue fell 5% year-on-year to 1171.$500 million, but its fourth-quarter revenue in the Indian region hit a record。To this end, Apple CEO Tim Cook (Tim Cook) said in the last phone earnings conference that the company "takes the market very seriously," and to this end, Apple has opened an online store for India, and plans to open the first official retail flagship store in the region later this year.。

In addition to being an Apple sales area, India is becoming increasingly important to Apple's product development.。According to media reports, Foxconn, Apple's main supplier, is moving to India and said it plans to invest $700 million to build a factory in India, which may be used to assemble iPhones and may also produce parts for Apple's emerging electric vehicle business.。

Apple Management Shuffle

Specifically, Hugues Asseman, Apple's vice president for India, the Middle East, the Mediterranean, Eastern Europe and Africa, is making corresponding job changes after announcing his retirement.。Ashish Chowdhary, Asseman's direct subordinate and former head of India, will be promoted and will subsequently report directly to Michael Fenger, Apple's head of product sales.。

Asseman has been working in Apple sales for more than 20 years as a senior employee, starting as a marketing manager, mainly responsible for the sales of the Mac and iPod series.。He later led the retail team and became head of sales for Apple's iPhone in Europe and other international markets in 2011.。

Asseman's departure is part of a surge in executive departures in recent months。Earlier this year, Apple's vice president of subscription services also offered to resign, and its cloud chief is scheduled to leave next month.。Last year, executives in charge of industrial design, procurement, some software and hardware engineering, privacy, information systems and online stores also announced their withdrawal.。

In addition, while this management change will affect Apple's management structure, it will not affect Apple's previous model of releasing public earnings reports on sales by region。The results will still be announced in five major regions: the Americas, Greater China, Japan, Asia Pacific (excluding China and Japan), the Middle East, Europe and Africa, and India will now be included as part of the European category.。
