ZachXBT: Coinbase users lost at least $150 million due to fraud in the past year "
According to online reports, according to BeInCrypto, blockchain investigator ZachXBT disclosed that Coinbase users have lost at least US$150 million due to social fraud in the past year, and the cases he independently confirmed alone have reached this amount. In the latest case, a user was cheated of 110 cbBTC (worth US$11.5 million) on the Base network. Attackers use instant exchanges to quickly launder funds, making tracking and recovery of funds almost impossible through cross-platform redemption and bridging operations. ZachXBT pointed out that such scams are usually implemented by impersonating Coinbase customer service, including phishing emails, forged phone calls and other means to trick users into revealing private keys or account information. Once successful, the attacker will immediately transfer and control the funds. In addition, ZachXBT criticized Coinbase for failing to effectively help victims and noted its leadership's failure to face up to security threats.
