ASIC Bans Veridian Markets Directors
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has permanently banned Delan Pagliaccio from providing any financial services.。
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has permanently banned Delan Pagliaccio, Hope Island, Queensland, from providing any financial services, controlling entities engaged in financial services business and performing any functions in connection with engaging in financial services business.。
Mr. Pagliaccio is the sole director of Veridian Securities Pty Ltd (deregistered), Veridian Markets Pty Ltd (under external management) and Synergy Asia Pacific Partners Pty Ltd (formerly SKR Private Pty Ltd and Synergy Equities Group Pty Ltd)。
ASIC also cancelled the Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) held by Synergy Asia Pacific Partners Pty Ltd.。
From May 2017 to June 2022, as a director of Veridian Markets, Mr. Pagliaccio engaged in dishonest, deceptive and misleading conduct relating to financial products or financial services.。In addition, Mr. Pagliaccio continued to provide financial services after Veridian Markets Pty Ltd ceased to have an AFS license.。
ASIC determined that Mr. Pagliaccio was not a suitable person to provide financial services due to his conduct under the following circumstances:
Advise potential clients that Veridian can invest funds in Macquarie Bank cash management accounts on their behalf and guarantee an annual return of 8%;
use the Client's funds for personal use without the Client's authorization or permission;
The funds were not returned even though the client requested redemption。
Mr. Pagliaccio has the right to appeal to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal for a review of ASIC's decision。
