CFTC permanently revokes Ted Brent Alexander registration

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued an opinion and order permanently revoking the registration of Ted Brent Alexander of Jackson, Mississippi. This action was based on Alexander's guilty plea in a federal criminal case, where he admitted to conspiracy to commit telecommunications fraud.

Since October 2008, Alexander has been registered with the CFTC as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) and Associated Person (AP). On April 26, 2003, Alexander pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit telecommunications fraud. On November 13, 2023, the court rendered a guilty verdict against Alexander.

Given that Alexander's plea involved charges including embezzlement, theft, fraud, deceptive transfer of funds or property, misuse of funds or property, and false pretenses, the Commodity Exchange Act allows for the permanent revocation of his registration.

The CFTC's order determined that under Section 8a(2)(D)(iii) of the Commodity Exchange Act, Alexander's registration with the CFTC is lawfully cancelled, and pursuant to the terms of the order, his registrations as a CTA and AP are permanently revoked.

Alexander acknowledged the charges in the "Notice of Intent" and agreed to the CFTC's issuance of the order revoking his registrations as a CTA and AP.
