On April 7, Mysten Labs announced that Seal, a decentralized secret management (DSM) service, is now available on Sui Testnet. Seal provides on-chain access control and threshold encryption, designed to solve security issues such as encrypted data storage, private messages and content access for Web3 applications. It provides developers with a decentralized, flexible security solution that is compatible with any application. Seal's features include on-chain access control achieved through Move smart contracts and threshold encryption to eliminate single points of failure. It supports multiple application scenarios such as content encryption, game logic, and Web3 messaging to ensure that Web3 applications can better protect user data and avoid relying on centralized key management.
