On January 3, local time, Intel announced that it will set up a new independent company around the artificial intelligence (AI) software business - Articul8 (sound with "Articulate"), the former vice president and general manager of Intel's data center and artificial intelligence division Arun Subramaniyan will be the CEO of Articul8。

Intel said Articul8, backed by digital asset manager DigitalBridge and other investors, provides a turn-key generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) software platform that is fast, secure and cost-effective to help large enterprise customers operate and scale AI.。

Launched and optimized on Intel hardware architecture, including Intel ® Xeon ® Scalable Processors and Intel ® Gaudi ® Accelerators, the platform guarantees full-stack, vertically optimized, and secure performance, but will support a range of hybrid infrastructure alternatives, the announcement said.。Specifically, customer data, training, and development can be kept within enterprise security, while providing customers with the choice of cloud, on-premises, or hybrid deployment。

Intel officials have yet to release details of the company and would not disclose the equity arrangements for the new company, saying only that Articul8 will have an independent board of directors and that Intel remains a shareholder.。In addition, Articul8 has no plans to go public, it was originally just the result of an enterprise AI technology project between Intel and the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).。

It is understood that Intel has used its own supercomputer to develop a GenAI system that can combine open source and internally developed technology to read text and images。Intel subsequently improved the system to run within BCG's data center to help address its privacy and security concerns.。

Rich Lesser, chairman of BCG Global, said: "Our collaboration began more than two years ago, when Articul8 was still in the incubation phase.。Since then, we have deployed Articul8 products to multiple customers looking for a production-ready (DPR) platform that can be quickly brought to market。"

Following BCG's early deployment of the technology, the team also expanded the platform to enterprise performance levels to support specialized knowledge bases that require high levels of security, such as financial services, aerospace, semiconductors, and telecommunications.。

Articul8 CEO Arun Subramaniyan revealed that many potential customers have reservations about giving data to large cloud computing companies for AI operations, and are concerned that if thousands of employees start using these systems, their costs will get out of control.。He said: "We have been working hard to solve GenAI's current problems of 'easy to establish proof of concept, difficult to put products into production and sustainable cost."。"
