On February 8, it was reported that the Newton Project was established in 2018 with the goal of providing infrastructure for the "community economy." The Newton Project supports the development of community economies by building decentralized infrastructure. With the successful completion of the first phase, the Newton Project is about to embark on a new journey. In January 2025, Newton DAO was officially established as a decentralized autonomous organization composed of all NEW token holders. This is an important turning point for the Newton Project, marking the project's move towards complete decentralization. Newton DAO's governance model is jointly decided by the community and no longer relies on a centralized "project team" or authoritative body. The Newton DAO community rediscussed and determined the direction of the project. The Newton Project will focus on building infrastructure for heterogeneous blockchains and assets. In order to better align with the new development direction, Newton Project will officially change its name to AB to reflect its new mission and goals.
