SEC 获得 Prosper Wealth Management 的终审判决

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has obtained approval for Anthony B, which operates Prosper Wealth Management, LLC..Liddle's verdict。

On February 28, 2024, the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin delivered its final decision on Liddle.。

The SEC filed a lawsuit on January 24, 2023, accusing Liddle of fabricating documents and making false statements to clients, many of whom were elderly, while working as an investment adviser.。Liddle lied that these clients' portfolios were too risky and needed to be replaced with less risky securities。

These "lower risk" securities are often rated as high risk and cannot be bought。Liddle had advisory clients send money directly to his investment advisory firm, where Liddle embezzled client funds and never invested on behalf of clients。Liddle also concocted statements to make so-called investment payments to advisory clients, when they actually came from defrauded client funds.。

The final judgment, made by mutual consent, prohibits Liddle from further violating the anti-fraud provisions of Section 17 (a) of the Securities Act of 1933, Section 10 (b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 et seq. Rule 10b-5, and Section 206 (1) and (2) of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.。

The judgment also prohibits Liddle from acting as an officer or director of any issuer registered under section 12 of the Exchange Act for a class of securities。

In addition, the judgment ordered Liddle to pay a fine of 1,662,041..$80, but in a parallel criminal case filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, Liddle pleaded guilty to one count of telecommunications fraud and one count of money laundering and was sentenced to 97 months in prison.。The SEC's lawsuit on the matter is now closed.。
