SGX USD / RMB futures, an important international RMB futures contract, surged 33% year-on-year to 2.7 million contracts。According to statistics released by SGX Group, this growth was spurred by the appreciation of the renminbi as exporters engage in year-end foreign exchange。SGX INR / USD futures, one of the world's top ten listed foreign exchange futures, rose 13 per cent to 1.1 million contracts.。

SGX Futures Maintain Upward Momentum

In September, the total volume of foreign exchange futures trading on SGX rose 20% year-on-year to 4.1 million contracts.。The increase was mainly due to concerns about long-term high US interest rates.。

Trading volume on SGX USD / RMB futures contracts rose 77% to a record average daily turnover of $15 billion。In equity derivatives, SGX saw a surge in demand, especially GIFT Nifty 50 index futures, which rose 9% month-on-month.。

At the same time, the sustainable finance sector has attracted global institutions, with new exchange FTSE Japan Flower Index futures ending the month at a record 1.$1.6 billion。Commodities trading reached an unprecedented level in September, up 77% year-on-year to 5.4 million contracts.。

Fixed Income and RMB Foreign Exchange Futures

In the fixed income sector, the issuance of 39 new bonds listed on the SGX fixed income sector in September rose sharply by 28% from the previous month.。

Major financial institutions such as the Export-Import Bank of Korea, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust and Banking Co., Ltd., Japan Life Insurance Co., Ltd. and Bayfront Infrastructure are among the best, showing billions of dollars in circulation.。

SGX's foreign exchange futures have shown a significant growth trajectory, especially with RMB foreign exchange futures contracts reaching a record high of 2.2 million in March 2023.。This represents a monthly growth rate of 44%.。At the same time, the average daily trading volume of RMB futures also increased by 79% year-on-year.。
