BYD Song Plus (Seal U) to get DM-i 5.0 New PHEV Powertrain

BYD Song Plus DM-i will use the fifth-generation PHEV powertrain and will have better cruising range and fuel economy。

Following the launch of the new Qin L and Seal 06 cars last week, it seems that the next car equipped with BYD's fifth-generation PHEV system will be Song Plus DM-i。Unlike these, Song Plus is not a new car, but will get an upgraded powertrain。Song Plus is known as Seal U in Europe and BYD Sealion 06 in Australia。- Advertising - BYD DM-i 5.0 technology to 1.The 5-liter engine is the core, with a power of 74 kilowatts and a torque of 126 Nm。The new Song Plus DM-i is powered by an EHS160 motor with up to 160 kW。Compared with the current Song Plus DM-i, the engine power is reduced from 81 kW, the torque is reduced from 135 Nm, but the motor power is increased from 145 kW。More importantly, how does this affect cruising range and fuel consumption。Thorium's existing Song Plus DM-i has three different battery capacities: 12.9, 18.3 and 26.6 kWh。Fortunately, the two larger models continue directly to the new version, offering an all-electric range of 91 kilometers and 128 kilometers respectively.。When we compare it with the existing 85 km and 116 km WLTC cruising range, we can see a clear improvement。The fuel consumption of two different battery capacities is also better than before, 4.95 liters / 100 km and 4.98 liters / 100 kilometers, better than the existing 5.3 liters / 100 km and 5.4L / 100km (WLTC)。-Advertising-The size of Song Plus DM-i remains the same because they are the same car except for the power system。This means 4775, 1890 and 1670 mm (length / width / height) and 2765 mm wheelbase。Thanks to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for the information needed to sell the car, we do know that there will be a slight visual change, and the "Build Your Dreams" badge on the back will be replaced by the letters "BYD"。The front of the car also has a BYD badge instead of the Song logo。Known equipment includes a panoramic sunroof and roof rack, and the car is equipped with 19-inch wheels。Song Plus DM-i is BYD's best-selling model, selling more than 131,000 units in the past six months。Fast Technology reports that the car may be renamed Sea Lion 05 in the future。Sales of the new Song Plus DM-i could start soon。-Advertising-Editor's Note: This car proves that we can expect the fifth-generation PHEV powertrain system to work fairly quickly in the BYD series e.I think Fast Technology's statement about the rename is incorrect, it is more likely that another car is based on it, but redesigned and named Sea Lion 05, just like Sea Lion 07 itself is a redesigned Song L。< / p > Source: Fast Technology, Dongche Land
