Brazilian court authorizes the seizure of cryptocurrencies for debt settlement "

According to online reports, Cointelegraph reported that the Third Plenary Panel of the Brazilian High Court unanimously ruled that the court can seize the debtor's cryptocurrency assets to repay the creditor. According to the ruling, a judge can now issue a notice to a cryptocurrency exchange requesting that the account holder's assets be seized for debt settlement. The High Court stated in a memorandum posted on its website that although cryptocurrencies are not legal tender, they can be used as a means of payment and a store of value. Judge Ricardo Villas Bôas Cueva said that although Brazil currently lacks formal regulation of cryptocurrencies, certain bills have identified them as "digital values representations."
