Dark network Nemesis Market founder charged on suspicion of cryptocurrency money laundering and other crimes

Internet reports that according to an announcement from the U.S. Department of Justice, Iranian national Behrouz Parsarad was indicted by a U.S. federal grand jury for operating the dark network market Nemesis Market, suspected of distributing controlled drugs and money laundering. The platform provides cryptocurrency money laundering services for illegal transactions through mixed currency services, and only supports cryptocurrency payments. In March 2024, U.S. law enforcement agencies joined forces with German and Lithuania authorities to seize Nemesis Market. In March 2025, the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control imposed sanctions on Parsarad. If convicted, Parsarad faces a minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison.
