Vanguard CEO says American exceptionalism has not yet reached its peak
Internet reports that Trump's chaotic policies are prompting some investors to "sell U.S. assets," but Vanguard Group CEO Salim Ramji said he still believes in the inherent strength of the U.S. economy. When asked whether American exceptionalism had reached its peak, Ramji replied: "Absolutely not." This view is increasingly at odds with the growing consensus that the decades-long dominance of U.S. investment is coming to an end. Ramji said that although investors have been selling off various U.S. assets in the past few weeks, Trump's trade policies will not mark the end of the U.S. economy's dominance in the financial sector. "We definitely see this in the flow of money, and we also see it in the behavior of our clients and the investment philosophy of our own team," he said.
