Internet reports that the asset size of U.S. money market funds has reached a record high. Faced with the Federal Reserve entering a interest-rate cut cycle, investors continue to flock to such assets in search of relatively higher returns. Data released by the American Investment Companies Association (ICI) showed that in the week ended November 6, approximately US$79.5 billion flowed into U.S. money market funds, raising the total asset size to US$6.59 trillion. The inflow of funds comes on the eve of the Federal Reserve's decision on Thursday, which cut interest rates by 25 basis points as expected.
