European markets mixed amid cautious trades, ECB meeting in focus

Market focus now shifts to corporate earnings reports and the European Central Bank meeting on Thursday, along with U.S. retail sales data for further confirmation of the economic resilience. Betting companies Entain (OTCPK:GMVHF) and Flutter (FLUT) tumbled in Europe on Monday after a media report last week indicated that UK Treasury officials are considering a £3 billion \"tax raid\" on the gambling sector. Meanwhile, China’s Minister of Finance Lan Fo’an in a press briefing on Saturday hinted at more debt issuance amid efforts to shore up the economy. Coming up in the session: A lighter day ahead. In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was flat at 4.09%. Germany's 10-year yield was down 1 basis point to 2.26%. UK's 10-year yield was up 1 basis point to 4.22%.
