Indian billionaire Adani was summoned by the US SEC to explain his position over bribery case

Indian billionaire Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani have been summoned by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to explain allegations that they paid more than $250 million in bribes to win solar power contracts, Internet reported. The Press Trust of India (PTI) reported that the summons had been served at the Adani family's home in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad, requiring them to respond within 21 days. Citing a notice issued through the Eastern District Court of New York on November 21, PTI said that if the Adani family failed to respond on time, they would be sentenced in absentia.
