US SEC: It took 583 enforcement actions in fiscal year 2024, receiving the highest financial relief in history of US$8.2 billion
Internet reports that the U.S. SEC recently announced that law enforcement efforts in fiscal year 2024 hit a record high, highlighting its efforts to maintain market integrity and investor protection. "A total of 583 enforcement actions were filed in fiscal 2024 and $8.2 billion in financial remedies were received, the highest amount in SEC history," the agency said. Compared to 2023, the number of enforcement actions initiated by the SEC increased by 14%. SEC Chairman Gary Gensler praised the role of law enforcement: "Law enforcement is a determined police force that follows the facts and the law to hold violators accountable, no matter where they are. As this year's results demonstrate, the division helps promote the integrity of our capital markets, benefiting both investors and issuers."
