According to online reports, the U.S. Senate committee voted to approve the nomination of U.S. Commerce Secretary nominee Howard Lutnick with a vote of 16 to 12. Lutnick is currently CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, which manages the multibillion-dollar U.S. Treasury business for Tether. As an open supporter of Bitcoin, Lutnick previously made a clear statement in an interview with CNBC: "I support cryptocurrencies, but specifically, I only support Bitcoin.
