Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis proposes selling some of the Federal Reserve's gold to buy Bitcoin
Internet reports that Donald Trump's Senate ally, Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, said the president-elect's proposed strategic bitcoin reserve could be filled without increasing the government deficit: selling some of the Federal Reserve's gold to buy bitcoin. Cynthia Lummis plans to push a bill to achieve this goal when the new Congress takes office next year. The bill requires the United States to purchase 1 million bitcoins, which costs about $90 billion at current market prices, but that number could increase if the bill is passed and investors buy before the government enters.
