Derivbit options open interest reached US$40.8 billion, a record high
According to online reports, the volume of open interest contracts on Derivbit options on the digital asset derivatives exchange hit a record high on Thursday, of which the open interest volume on Bitcoin and Ethereum contracts reached US$37.6 billion, and the total open interest volume on the platform reached US$40.8 billion. Luuk Strijers, CEO of Deribit, said: "The record-high open positions not only reflect price increases, but also indicate an increase in the overall adoption rate of options in the cryptocurrency derivatives space. Institutional and retail investors are increasingly turning to cryptocurrency options because they are attracted by the liquidity, strong hedging mechanisms and precise risk management strategies provided by this instrument class." Strijers said he expects open interest to continue to grow as institutional engagement deepens, which will add stability and maturity to the crypto derivatives space.
