SEC awards $6 million to joint whistleblowers
On April 22, according to the official website of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the SEC awarded approximately US$6 million to joint whistleblowers who provided key information, prompted the launch of investigations, and assisted in law enforcement actions. This reward comes from an investor protection fund consisting of fines for violations and complies with the reporting reward mechanism stipulated in the Dodd-Frank Act. The identity of the whistleblower will continue to be protected confidential.
